Reminders & Updates

After care invoices are due Sunday, March 15.  

SJA 2019/2020 Yearbooks

An order for has been sent home with your child. All hardcover yearbooks are $20 and all orders are due no later than May 8th. You can pay via cheque (please make payable to SJA), cash, or Quickboooks (you will be invoiced). Don't wait too long as there are only 200 copies!

March Break Camps
Forms have been sent home regarding SJA's Awesome Adventure Camp. This wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday for the entire March Break (March 9-13 & March 16 -20) and is offered to students from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoon. Meal plans are also included if you choose to do so. Cash or Quickbooks payments are the accepted forms of payment. Don't delay, register today!

The student council is selling Rafiki bracelets to help women in Africa and those affected by the forest fires in Australia.

Library with Mrs. Hayward: 

Saturday, March 7th is the 40th anniversary of the Paper Bag Princess, by Robert Munsch. To celebrate, Mrs. Hayward and the grade 4s watched the first 10 minutes of the animated story. Here is a link to continue watching the video: 

Inquiry to Math: 

We have completed our Geometry Unit and have written our unit test. I will be emailing test scores over the March Break so that you are aware of your child's achievement in this unit. I will send the physical test home after the March Break. 

I have sent home 3 worksheets to begin preparing for our next unit, Unit 7 - Transformational Geometry. Please ensure that your child completes these worksheets to help build their knowledge on the unit. 

Inquiry to Language: 

The grade 4s wrote their lesson 24 spelling tests today. Tests will be sent home after the March Break.

I have sent home two reading comprehension worksheets for the grade 4s to use while they read two Raz Kids books over their march Break. One comprehension sheet is for a fiction book and the other is for a non-fiction book. They should be reading everyday over their break to continue developing their reading and comprehension skills. 

I have also sent hope a copy of the grade 4 and 5 spelling lists for this in class Spelling Bee competition. Please ensure your child is studying their list words. 

Unit of Inquiry: 

Today the grade 4s presented their Medieval Times Summatives today: 

When we return from March Break, we will begin our next unit, Rocks and Minerals! Please bring in any artifacts that you would like to put on display at our UOI board.
