Creating A
Sequel
Task: *Re-read
the last 8 lines of the novel: What do you think would happen if a sequel was written to the novel?
It is your turn to become an author. Using what you know from the story and
your own ideas, you are going to write the first page to Marty Pullin’s second book in his series, Ghost in the Churchyard.
Remember,
introductions are meant to grab the reader’s attention. When writing your
sequel, think of where we left off last; are you continuing the story, or creating a whole new adventure
for Emily and William to tackle? The choice is yours!

Today the grade 4s are wrapping up their summative projects in preparation for their presentations tomorrow. Please ensure that your child adds on their final touches this evening and make sure that they are ready to present tomorrow.
Summative outline:
Medieval Times Announcement
Instructions
Working with a partner, you will be researching an aspect of medieval times and comparing it to the same aspect of today’s society. Within your summative, you need to focus on Form – what it is like, Change – how it is changing, how has it changed, and Connection – how is it connected to other things. For example, you might be researching the delivery of daily news. In this case you would compare ways we receive news today to how people in the medieval times might have received news. In this summative, you will use your notes, books, and the internet to expand your knowledge and understanding of life in the middle ages.
