Inquiry into Math:
We took a little break from our math studies today. To ensure that we are continuing to build our skills I am sending home a math package for each student to complete. Please have your child complete as much as they can over the weekend. Please circle the questions that give your child the most difficulty and I will be sure to go over these questions in class on Monday before we continue our next lesson in the unit.
A copy of this letter has been sent home with your child. Please return it to me and I will pass it along to Mrs. Haag.
Inquiry into Language:
Our annual International Day is quickly approaching and will take place on Thursday, October 17th. This year the country we will be learning about is Brazil. Next week we will begin dedicating some of our Language periods to divide up the project responsibilities, researching and putting together a fabulous presentation on our country. Partners or small groups will research one of the following topics; clothing, food, imports/exports, laws/regulations, holidays, sports/toys, etc. Students will need devices and books from a local library to complete their research. Thank you for your support.
Today we continued preparing our presentation for Orange Shirt Day on Monday with Mrs. DiMascio's class.
We also wrote our Lesson 3 Spelling test. Please review the test with your child and have them correct any misspelled words 10 times each.

Spelling procedures are as follows:
1. Copy your spelling words into your agendas in cursive
2. Define your bonus words
3. Complete spelling lesson activities
4. Hand in completed spelling activities on Wednesdays
5. Study for spelling tests nightly
How do I know if I know my spelling words? Well, can you use them in a sentence? Can you define the word to someone else? Do you know other words that have the same meanings (synonyms)? Do you know words that mean the opposite?

Today we wrote our Great Lakes and important bodies of water quiz. Please review the quiz with your child.
We are almost done making our 3D maps of Canada, and they're looking absolutely fantastic! Some of us are putting on the final touches:

What a crazy end to Fall Fundraiser. These unlucky teachers took one for the team and took a pie to the face.
And somehow, Mrs. Chin peruaded Mrs. Haag to pie poor Mrs. DiMascio!
The real craziness started when Mrs. Chin was using the scream-o-meter to see which teacher should take the final pie. It was between me and Mr. Foster. Somehow I survived and did not get a pie to the face this year, thank you Mr. Foster...better luck next year!
😆😆😆
Ask your child how the rest of their day went, because I'm sure they can't wait to share it all with you!
