My First Day of Grade 4! - Day 1

Wow, what a first day!

Good Afternoon Families!

I hope you all had a fun and relaxing summer, but I hope you're all ready to continue the fun and work hard too!

As per last year, I will continue to use an app called remind, initially I was going to switch over to Bloomz, but why change what has already been working so well. Through this app I will send updates about important class information. I will also use it as another form of communication if your child may be away or if you have any questions about homework. My office hours for the app will be from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm. To get started on the app, simply download Remind via your app store and join my class using the link below:

My First Day of Grade 4:

To start off the day, we explored our new room and wrote down all the questions that we had about our new room and stuck them on our first day jitters board. Throughout the week we will answer as many questions as we can!

Today we came up with 10 classroom expectations and signed the Power Path Pledge! First we broke up into groups to discuss what we thought would help each other to be successful in grade 4. I will share the finalized list with you all very soon!

We revisited some of our math skills and created a Figure Me Out page. Using our addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills we created facts about ourselves using our number sense. Here is an example:

Tomorrow we will take some time to get to know each other by solving each equation.
