Terriffic Thursday - Day 52

Good Afternoon Families!

Please read all the information below to get the latest scoop on our day! 

-Polar Expressions is back again this year and they are looking for students to have the chance to publish poems and short stories in an upcoming book. Information sheets have been sent. Students who are interested in this competition can do so on their own time, as class time will not be given. The deadline for poems is November 29^th and the deadline for short stories is December 6^th.

December Lunches - The lunch site is now open. It will close Wednesday, November 20th at 3:00pm 
Special of the month: Spaghetti and Meatballs which is available every Friday. 
All payments are to be made through quickbooks by December 6th.

Inquiry into Math:

Today we explored perimeter and area using grids. Grids can be helpful when finding perimeter and area because you can easily count the side lengths for the perimeter and the squares inside the figure for the area. See the following examples below:

Inquiry into Language:

Today we worked on our relections for our term 1 reports cards. We also wrote our Term 2 OWA. This time we are working on writing journal recounts. 

All spelling activities are due on Wednesday. We will have our spelling test on Tomorrow.

Unit of Inquiry:

Today we worked on making kaleidoscopes. We ran into some issues with the tinfoil relfecting our glitter, so me may have to do some trouble shooting tomorrow. 

Task: See if you can look up some information to help make our kaleidoscopes better.
