Dear SJA Families,
Just a reminder that the SJA re-registration process is underway. To reserve your child's 2020-2021 place at St. Jude's Academy, complete and return your child's re-registration forms and payment to reception by Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at 4:00 pm.
After this date and time, any available grade-level spaces will be open to new families on the wait list.
In addition, the deadline for our priority enrolment into our JK Program is Friday, January 17th, 2020. If you have any questions regarding the forms or next steps, please contact our Admissions Team.

Special Activity with our TA - Ms. Alyssa:
Today Ms. Alyssa facilitated a positivity activity with the grade 4s. Their task was to write 3 strengths or things that they like about themselves. Once they wrote down their three things, they got into a circle and exchanged papers and wrote strengths that they recognized in their peers.
Inquiry into Language:Today they grade 4s worked on completing their good copies of their speech, and practicing so that they can have their speech memorized to present to the class.
In the afternoon, the grade 4s welcomed Mr. Michael Di Mascio, from Z 103.5. Mr. Di Mascio gave the grade 4s some helpful tips to use when preparing to present their speeches. The grade 4s left the workshop feeling motivated and ready to work!
The grade 4 in class competition will be held February 4th/5th.
The Annual Oral Competition for grades 4 - 8 will be held on Friday, February 7th. All speeches need to be memorized and should be within 3 - 5 minutes.

Unit of Inquiry:
The grade 4s continued working on their summatives for their unit: Who we are. Students were given their summative packages as a point of reference as they work their way through their assignment. Just a friendly reminder that all summative materials are to be provided by the students.
Each group has chosen two religions that they have either learned about during our unit, or religions that they would like to learn about to complete a comparison assignment. They will discover the similarities and differences between their chosen religions and present their findings to the class via a story book, brochure or news report/interview.
