March Break Camps
Forms have been sent home regarding SJA's Awesome Adventure Camp. This wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday for the entire March Break (March 9-13 & March 16 -20) and is offered to students from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoon. Meal plans are also included if you choose to do so. Cash or Quickbooks payments are the accepted forms of payment. Don't delay, register today!

It will close Wednesday, February 26th at 3:00pm sharp

Inquiry into Math:
Today the grade 4s continued working on constructing triangles. They challenged themselves today when they worked on creating a triangle that had a 40°, 60°, and 80° angles. Is there only one way to make this triangle? See if you can make triangles of different sizes (side length measurements) that still have the same angle measures of 40°, 60°, and 80°!

Today the grade 4s worked independently to read chapters 10 - 12 of their novel. Once they completed the reading, the compared their novel to a book that they have read before. The talked about the similarities and differences between the setting, plot, and characters from both books.

Unit of Inquiry:
Today the grade 4s learned the coat of arms. In the Middle Ages, a coat of arms was a heraldic shield that represented people of royal stature, a family, or an individual person. During this time, a coat of arms was useful in distinguishing who was on your side in battle. The grade 4s were able to recognize that SJA has a coat of arms of its own:
They also made the connection that this type of symbolism is used today in many company logos.
Their task for the day was to create their own coat of arms that represents who they are as individuals:
